I am fascinated...

with the history of different ethnic food and I am excited to read this book.
Did you know that the fortune cookie did not originated from China...? The concept came from Japan. Really the Chinese food that is served in America is actually not Chinese food at all. Are you shocked...? HA! I am not surprised...we Americans put our own touches on all kinds of food. I love India Indian Food and I am sure that it does not taste the way it should. Ohhhhh but how I love it. Yum!

I am also brushing up on my skills to make bouquets, corsages, and boutonnieres. I have been looking up what is in these days for weddings. I will be doing them for my sisters wedding. I have done two weddings...my sister Mary and my friend Carissa. I hope I can pull it off with my creative touch.
I really like this one. I will be taking pictures!

AAaaawwww..... the cute couple! I am excited for you my dear sister. You only deserve the best in life and you know that.

Yes I am....

alive Mom! I am well and kicking.... just have not had the time to blog. Here is what I was up to TODAY. The only difference in mine is I used way less butter and whipping cream. I like my alfredo creamy. I also like to add some peppery chicken on top! YUM! Here are my key ingredients I use in my Chicken alfredo.

Dealt with this today! OK...I confess I get road rage...I know I am bad but sometimes I fell like the comic below. Really I am not an old lady driver but I really dislike tail gaiters.

Have you heard...

about Everyday Food....? Yes...it is from the glorious Martha Stewart. What can I say the lady does have talent or at least the people that work for her do. I have been getting her mags for over a year and I do love her recipes. I pay $9.00 each year for a year subscription (10 magazines) and it is definitely worth it. I have gotten some of my favorite recipes from her handy dandy small mag. Another reason why I love them so is, that they give you the nutrient info as well as fat content and calorie intake per serving. It is wonderful!
Another great buy is this recipe book also done by the glorious one...HA!
This book has the best past recipes from the everyday food mag. I have used this cook book a-LOT!

So now you know where I get most of my tasty recipes.

I have a confession...

and I feel guilty! No... I am not handicap as far as I know. HA! Mark and I have had this plaque for five years and I have to confess we have used it.

For what you ask....? As Mark would say "Rock Star Parking"! I can remember the day we found this plaque. It lay helplessly on the wet, cold ground in front of an Olive Garden parking lot. Mind you an empty parking lot. Mark happened to stumble upon it and was thrilled...almost like he had found gold. Now we were not aimlessly walking the Olive Garden parking lot... we were there to get the $6.95 all you could eat soup, salad and bread sticks deal. Little did we know that we would find this guilty confession, I now talk about in shame. Now when Mark found the plaque he was thrilled and yelled "Do you have your purse?" I said "YES" and "WHY...?" He grabbed my purse and stuffed the plaque in it. I ask "What was that...?" He said "Rock Star parking...!" Mark was so excited over the plaque that he bragged about it to his friends and family. I felt I was stuck in a Seinfeld episode.

I was not sure if he indeed really was going to use it or if he was just bragging about it. Well don't be tooooo shocked...we both have used it! Not everyday mind you... really I can count on one hand how many times we have used it. And really I felt awful each time we did use it. Mark on the other hand....well...if I did not have the guilty conscience....I am sure it would have gotten more use.
Now it is expired and secretly I am relieved! My confession is out! Ha! Now you know!

I am gearing up for...

Marks birthday tomorrow(technically on Sunday)! I have been making these lovelies. All ya do is make your favorite cookies, let them cool, take ice cream out of the freezer to thaw awhile and place on your cookie. Grab a second cookie to seal the deal. Whola! Oh... to make those tight pants tighter.... dip it in your favorite topping (Marks fav... Chocolate chips). When you are all done it looks like.....
FAT ICE SCREAM SANDS
You have to use two hands to eat these!

I must be getting...

well or the meds are getting to me because I had to laugh at this...look below.
(Images taken from this months issue of GOOD HOUSEKEEPING)

HA!...this is seriously the most disturbing/funny thing I have seen in awhile.... Can you imagine the upkeep for this kind of organization...????? I am ever so lucky, to even get my unmentionables out of my laundry basket to my drawers. Even then if they do make it to the drawers, then their is no way that they are delicately placed in such orderly fashion. I would really like to meet the woman/maybe man who can have this kind of patience.

*(OK...secretly I wish I had a maid who could do this for me.) HA!...That will be the day!
