Forget...

Breakfast at Tiffany's although that is a cute movie. My favorites by the classic Hepburn are....

I tend to gravitate to these movies when I am working out or in a sickly state. Her tiny frame just kicks me into working out stronger. HA!

One of those days...

Ok...this is my blog and I do have rotten days, I am just as normal as anyone around here. And I feel I am entitled to have a couple of these posts every once in awhile. If you don't want to read it...just tune into tomorrow. I am sure I will be more pleasant.

This is from anothers blog and it kind of says what I am feeling.

Never say, "I know someone who..." Do you really know someone who got pregnant after they adopted a little baby from Cambodia? Do you really know someone who got pregnant even though their tubes were tied? Do you really know someone who after years and years of trying out of blue got pregnant? I don't think you do. It always seems to be someone who knows someone who knows someone. I have never had a first hand account story of fertility hope. Instead, it is always my sister's sister-in-law's cousin twice removed had a child after years of trying by just using Chinese herbs. I am calling it right now -- liar. Here is another little secret, the women who have fertility issues HATE these stories. They are all fine and sweet and wonderful for that mysterious person you don't really know but for the women who have had their hearts broken countless times -- cycle after cycle -- it just breaks their hearts all over again. For the woman who has been told her chances of conception are about 1%, it makes them depressed to know that those stories are just fairy tales. They wish they were real but not for the woman in the story but for them.

Never say, "why don't you try FILL IN THE BLANK HERE?" Unless you have been there done that and it has worked for you don't offer false hope. As a woman who struggled for several years to have a child, I was looking for any miracle cure. I tried it all. Yes, I do believe that a combination of western and eastern medicine is what eventually got me pregnant. I do also know what it felt like one day to stand in the back of my church with a woman with two kids and another on the way told me to try some herbs that a friend of hers used to get pregnant. I had no idea what she was saying all I know is that I wanted to be her. I wanted to be carrying a baby, I didn't care what advice she had for me. I also know I couldn't go back to church for awhile after that encounter it made me angry and sad all at once. A place I always felt like I belonged made me feel unwanted like an outcast because I didn't have a baby.

Now now...I do not feel entirely the same as this woman but I do have my days. Like today...maybe it is because Aunt Flo is coming to town...who knows.

Love thy neighbor

...even though his bus in the back yard is ugly and is an obstruction of my view. Do I have to love his bus...? I guess my prayers were answered today. The bus has been moved to the other side of his house, where I no longer am able to imagine my space adventures.

Striking.... the resemblance! Time for a brick wall fence.

I need a SOS...

I bought to many strawberries. Oh yum...what a great mistake. HA! Really...I am trying to figure out what to do with them all. As you know I am a sucker for cheap fruit/veggies. This is so far what I have made with them, besides eat the juicy things.

A little dessert for later...maybe with some shortcake. I have another container and I thinking maybe some jam and freezing it. Any suggestions would be nice.

Late night time...

blogging is the best...especially when Mark is watching the show 24. I am not a fan!

Once upon a long time ago... I use to make pizzas and hosted many little kids Birthday Party's. It was my most favorite job at the time. Heck... it was the only job I had at the time. As a teenager it was my life...well school was too. And whenever I go back to PV...I look at that lonely hill that use to be the home of the "Castle" and say to myself...."I am getting old...!" It no longer exists! Oh...how my childhood just disappeared.

Me in my shindig...oh and a lot of blush! HA!!!!!

Thanks to all for the prayers for Mike. He is at the Flagstaff hospital and is doing better. His kidneys were really bad and if he did not get medical attention, he would have not made it.Thanks again! Love....

Done...

and done. Here is the bouquet. What did not get pictured is all the corsages and boutonnieres and cake. I was super tired and had to rush around with my head cut off.Everything turned out great and I am thrilled. While I was in Snowflake, I got to see my Mike. He is very sick and when I got to see him, my eyes just swelled with tears. He laid there in his bed like a little slug. A cute slug might I add. I am not use to seeing him in his bed and not being able to move. I am use to seeing him like the video below. Mike is the most genuine person I know. He tells ya when he is mad, sad, happy, excited and anything that is on his mind. I love him for that. I feel very connected to my brother and consider him as a best friend.

Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

Here comes...

the flowers...! I did a tester boutonniere for Melissa's wedding. I am pleased with it. However.... this is only a tester. Her corsages and boutonniere's will have splashes of purple in them. That is the choice of color for this wedding.
I am having fun....!

BEEFY...

Happy St. Patricks day to all. Did you all wear your green...? I have to confess...I did not! Mark pinched me a couple of times. Really... he was not allowed because of my lovely green eyes. HA! (Who says eye color does not count.) Did you all make corn beef and cabbage...? I did for the first time and I was rather stressed out about it. I had never made the wonderful dinner before and did not want to ruin it. It was actually easy peasy. I just cooked it on low for 7 hours in the crock pot. The vegetables I cooked separately with the juice from the beef. Mark said it was the best corn beef he has ever had. I don't know if that is a compliment or not, considering he has only had it a handful of times. None the less I will take it.

Bowl crazy...

why...I don't know why! HA! I like bowls! Well I think my collection/obsession started when I moved into my house. I wanted fun colors to go up at the top of my cabinets. It was bare and really needed some flair. So one by one I started to collect. Well I use them for cooking as well, so they get two uses.

Today I was browsing Savers my favorite thrift store and happen to come upon these beauties. Ladies and gentle men/very gentle men...don't throw your vintage Pyrex out. They are making a come back. Yes....Melissa I love your vintage Pyrex that you got from an unknown source. I scored these two bowls with paying 4 bucks and checked on eBay to find that someone was selling one of my bowls for $15.00. I do not plan on flipping my lovely bowls...but rather I'll be using them. Did I mention I like bowls....?

Ohhh...my lovely vintage 1950's-1960's bowls!

Picture from Country Living Magazine/Different kinds of Pyrex vintage bowls.

Oh for those who want to know more about their Vintage Pyrex click HERE. Or if you like bowls like me then take a peek.
